THE ORIGINAL "GIORGIO'S PIZZA HOUSE"
In February 1959, Frank and Concetta (Tina) D'Ambrosio, along with their paisans Mario and Enza Volpe, opened the original "Giorgio's Pizza House" in San Jose's Foxworthy Shopping Center. Named after a dear old friend, it quickly became a beloved gathering place for authentic Southern Italian food and warm hospitality.
A year later, cousins Louise and Anthony "Sash and Lou" Dambruoso took the helm and ran the restaurant for the next eight years. In 1968, Frank and Tina's four sons — Don, Nick, Frank, and John — purchased the restaurant, keeping it firmly in the family where it remains to this day. Their photos and paintings still proudly grace our walls.
Over the decades, the D'Ambrosio family has continued to grow while staying true to our roots:
-1997: Opened our Milpitas Town Center location, featuring two beautiful private event spaces
-2022: Launched Giorgio's Italian Grill & Pizzeria in downtown Morgan Hill with an expansive outdoor dining patio, one of the largest in the Bay Area
-2024: Reborn the iconic Mountain View location (formerly Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi Too!) as the newest Giorgio's Italian Grill & Pizzeria, a more intimate concept includes inside and patio dining with streamlined take-out and delivery services
"With all our hearts, we thank the generations before us for their love, guidance, and knowledge. The D'Ambrosio family will always strive to uphold the high standards of food, service, and value they set for us."
Forever in our hearts — The D'Ambrosio Family
